Psychotherapy backed by 35 years of experience working with the emotions that motivate behavior and guide healing.

Individual Therapy
I offer individual therapy to residents of Iowa. Please read about my treatment approaches and who I work with below, and contact me to book or if you have any questions.

I work with adults with a wide range of experiences, professions, and personal histories.
A solid understanding of the biology and biography of human emotion is the blueprint that guides our work. From that foundation, it’s possible to begin understanding whatever emerges in our work – anxiety, depression, grief, overwhelm, and difficult memories.
Some areas that we
may address include:
Codependency
Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Divorce
Emotional Disturbance
Grief
Life Transitions
Men's Issues
Parenting
Relationship Issues
Self Esteem
Stress
Substance Use
Women's Issues

Psychotherapy with Clinicians

A focus of my practice
is working with psychotherapists.
It’s an exciting expansion of the work I have done for three decades. The opportunity to work with another therapist brings a synergy, energy, and new learning that takes “co-creation” to another level.

Grounded in Affect Script Psychology and the seminal work of Silvan S. Tomkins, the understanding of the biology and biography of human emotion is the foundation of my work.
From there I have synthesized into my work the following frameworks
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Attachment
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Art Therapy
Neurofeedback
Mindfulness-Based (MBCT)
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
Strength-Based
Family Systems
Couples
New and emerging thinking in Neuroscience

Jennifer understands the neurobiological basis of our emotional system. In mutual discovery, she helps clients to map their own emotional world, elaborate difficult early histories, and identify present-day triggering events. With attuned and caring skill, she facilitates clients to develop their own healing solutions, and to realize new directions for the future.
