Looking Underneath the Source of Your Anger

 

Like all emotions, anger has an evolutionary role to play in the survival of our species. Like other innate negative effects of distress, fear, disgust, or shame, anger has been tagged with a bad reputation. This reputation comes from wounding, destructive behaviors that can occur in the many ways we can express anger or act on it outwardly. But, like the other innate negative effects, anger is not inherently “bad.” It served a purpose in human survival.
